The Doctors Channel is an educational video content provider for doctors around the world, dedicated to improving patient care through compelling, evidence-based medical content.

In an age ofmedia snacking,” where people get their information in fragments throughout the day, The Doctor’s Channel delivers free expert medical information condensed into 1-2 minute streaming videos that get right to the point.

The Doctor’s Channel has a state-of-the-art video editing and production studio in New York City and has shot on location throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. A health video news update is produced with Reuters Health, in addition to continuing medical education (CME) videos, Doc Humor for laughs, and a Doc Life section that contains videos about art, style, food and travel for when the doctor is not on call.

Our main challenge in the redesign of the site was to provide an engaging user experience that facilitates rapid and easy access to relevant content. Our user base has unique interests across a variety of medical distinctions, so effectively categorizing our content to enhance discoverability was a priority.

To accomplish this, we field-tested multiple layouts over a period of months. After analyzing the data from a series of enhancements, we finalized our current site.

The results have been positive both qualitatively and quantitatively. We regularly receive feedback from physicians praising the update, and our analytics have demonstrated a 30% increase in time on site since the launch of the redesign.
